Anyway... how many people can say they don't stare at the contents of your fridge more than once a day without even realizing they are doing it, please raise your hands!
Right! I knew there were not many of you out there!
We all do it. It's like sleepwalking, you have no idea that you're doing it, why you're doing it. You just do it. It's one of those things that goes beyond age, race, nacionality, sex, you just do it - driving slowly on the passing lane is another of those things but that's not my point right now.
It all started with a "mom, I am hungry!' Anyone who has kids hear that at least a few times during the day, especially during school holidays and if you're a SHAM (stay-at-home-mom). It doesn't matter how old your kids are. Heck, you hear it from your husband over the weekend as well!
So I walk to the fridge... it's time to start supper so I better get it going. At first I am perusing it, then I'm just staring at it. I think of my grandmother (God bless her!), and I smile. Everyday right after lunch was done with (in Brazil lunch is the main meal), she would say "what I am going to cook for lunch tomorrow?" I'm exactly the same. So I am there wondering what I am going to cook for supper tonight, but already thinking about tomorrow's. ARGH!
Then I took a REAL good look at the contents. Or rather at the emptiness of it. I can hear my thoughts echoing inside it. I've been refusing to go grocery shopping until I clean my fridge, I go out almost everyday and buy what I need for that day telling myself "tomorrow I'll clean it". You know what they say about tomorrow, it never comes. :)
As I was taking some stuff to the counter, the idea for this post came to me. And another one came to me as I was answering the "what are we having for supper" that came after the "mom, I am hungry" questions.
Do you have what it takes to show us the contents of your fridge?
Keep in mind you can't clean it too much (just a little, if you wish, or show us the "raw" state of your fridge). You can email me your picture and I will post it here if you wish, or post it on your blog and come back here and let me know so I can go and take a look! ;) Either way, have fun!
Here's mine:

** note: and no, I don't keep an empty Timmy's on my fridge, I just wanted to make you were paying attention! ;)
Yours truly,
