So I had my haircut. Short. Short as in short-short. Once I told the hairdresser what I wanted to do, all of a sudden she went awfully quiet. She was washing my hair and I could tell she was taking her time to wash it, thinking "what the heck I am going to do now?"
I sat on the chair, she looks around, looks at my hair, messes with it a little, I am staring at her reflection on the mirror "someone please save me from this!". Another hairdresser comes around and says "wow, she's got some much thick hair", my hairdresser takes the cue and goes "wanna do it?"
I switch seats. At this point I am not sure I should stay, but I don't know if I can leave either. I tell the hairdresser that everytime I say I want my hair short, every hairdresser convinces me of the contrary, for they are afraid of my hair. "I am not afraid of cutting your hair short", she says.
What the heck, I think, hair grows, right? right?
She talks a little too much, I watch her scissors very closely, and my hair falling out, man, that's a lot of hair!
It's short. It's not exactly what I wanted, but it's short. It'll grow. Hopefully fast.
When I get home, my 12-year-old dd looks at me and says "it's nice". It's nice. hmmmmmm.... Few hours later she comes, hugs me, and says "mom, I am sorry, it's good but it's not great, ok? is that ok? sorry mom".
My 6-year-old ds didn't even notice it. About an hour later I say "did you notice my haircut?" He makes a face and summons it all up in this brilliant comment:
"It's so... so... so.... BOYISH!"
Does anyone know of a nice, cheap wig?
